To European/Australian Wii U owners
DO NOT buy the Wii U VC port of Super Metroid. It’s the shitty 50Hz version.
Outside of Wii Mode, the Wii U only outputs 60Hz, so in order to simulate a 50Hz signal every 5th frame is repeated, leading to laggy unresponsive controls which will completely ruin the game, especially since it’s an action game that relies on tight timing.
And what’s Nintendo’s excuse for choosing the European version over the more superior US version? Two pretty bad German and French translations that you only see during the opening story at the beginning of the game.
I suggest you flood Miiverse with complaints about this asinine decision and demand an option to play the US version of the game. Kirby’s Adventure was ruined by this before.
